a formal statement, apparently

I'M SORRY, SENIORS.

Yeah. I made a whole website instead of just saying it normally.

Before you judge me, please review the evidence.

please click this, I worked suspiciously hard on it

Okay. Let's talk.

Dear Seniors,

I know I could have simply sent a message.

“Sorry.”

But apparently that wasn't enough for me.

So naturally, I built a website.

This is my unnecessarily elaborate way of saying that I'm genuinely sorry.

I know I messed up, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

yes, this is serious

no, this isn't a normal apology

The incident

Exhibit A

What I did

I stopped showing up the way I should have. I pulled back, went quiet, and let the distance sit there instead of doing anything about it.

Exhibit B

What I should have done

Said something. Even a clumsy, honest message early on would have been better than the silence I picked instead.

Exhibit C

What actually happened

The longer I left it, the harder it felt to say anything at all. So I kept not saying anything, and a small gap slowly turned into a real one.

Exhibit D

What I learned

Going quiet isn't neutral. It leaves people guessing, and it makes them carry something that was mine to fix. Owning it early is the whole job.

this proves nothing, legally

I should have said this earlier.

I appreciate you.

I appreciate the times you helped me.

I appreciate the patience.

I appreciate the memories.

And I'm sorry for making things difficult.

I don't expect one website to fix everything.

I just wanted you to know that I mean it.

So…

After reviewing the evidence, surviving the apology meter, and completing the highly scientific reputation test…

Will you forgive me?
